What we do
Six DB-side jobs we handle, with published rates.
ELCB tripping diagnostics
RM 180–350. We isolate circuits, test insulation resistance, identify the fault location (usually a specific circuit, sometimes a specific appliance).
DB box service / inspection
RM 250–450. Check tightness of all terminations, test MCB operation, test ELCB sensitivity, check for heat damage, verify earth bond.
DB box upgrade
RM 1,500–4,500. New consumer unit with proper MCB protection per circuit, ELCB (single or per-circuit), labelled, tested, certificate issued.
Sub-DB install
RM 1,200–3,500. Additional DB for outbuildings, kitchens with high load, or to relieve overloaded main DB.
Single-phase to three-phase upgrade
RM 4,500–9,000. TNB application, meter, service cable, new DB, circuit redistribution. TNB approval typically 3–8 weeks.
Earth and bonding remediation
RM 350–1,200. Many older KL properties have inadequate or missing earth — critical safety issue.
Why ELCB matters
ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) trips when current leaks to earth through your body or another path. It's what stops you being electrocuted if you touch a faulty appliance, or if a wire shorts to a metal sink.
A frequently-tripping ELCB isn't faulty (usually) — it's telling you something on your circuit is leaking current. Don't keep resetting; trace and fix.
A never-tripping ELCB might be dead. Modern ELCBs have a test button — press it monthly. If the ELCB doesn't trip when you press test, it's failed and you have no protection.
Common diagnostic findings
Four patterns we see again and again.
Bathroom water heater tripping ELCB
Most often failed heating element (water ingress), occasionally aged ELCB itself losing sensitivity.
Kitchen circuit tripping
Usually a high-load appliance (kettle + microwave + AC) overloading; sometimes a fridge with deteriorated insulation.
Whole DB tripping during rain
Outdoor electrical with water ingress. Often a kitchen-side outdoor point.
Random intermittent trips
Most diagnostic-difficult. Could be aged ELCB, intermittent appliance fault, or marginal insulation. We trace patiently with insulation testing.
Service areas
Same-day reach across the Klang Valley.

Frequently asked questions
ELCB trips on residual current — current leaking to earth. Causes: water ingress to electrical (most common in bathrooms after a leak), failed appliance, deteriorated cable insulation, failed ELCB. We isolate the fault circuit by circuit and identify the cause.
